This has by far been the busiest year I have ever experienced in the Auxiliary. It's already the middle of June, Hurricane season is here, Conferences are in the final planning stages, joint operational planning is being implemented with our Sectors, we have a new District Seven Commanding Officer, RADM Branham, the Spring issue of "The Breeze" is completed and sent to members, we are hard at work on the "Auxiliary Modernization" plan, and there are three Sector Changes of Command right in front of us. WOW!! Oh, I forgot, we also moved the District Material Center from Port Charlotte to a new location at Air Station Clearwater – It's open for business!!!!!!!!
When I get to a point like this when I'm not sure what I'm doing next week, I have to stop and look back at where I was going and what I wanted to accomplish. I did that last weekend by re-reading the Strategic Plan COMO Brown and I put together last summer. In doing so, I realized the plan wasn't posted on our web site for everyone to read. It is now!!!!! Go to the D-7 web site, to the "Member Information Pages", then to "Announcements". There you will find a link to the "District 7 Strategic Plan".
I think it's important for everyone in the District to know where we are headed, what our vision is for the future, and how we expect to get there. When you read the plan, pay particular attention to the "Vision of the Commodore" on page 4. It describes the end state we will achieve as we move forward the next few years.
The second part I'd like you to pay particular attention to is the "Guiding Principles" presented on page 8. These 9 "Principals" define the very essence of who we are, how we think and act, and what drives us as Auxiliarists in District Seven. Please read these and make them part of your individual efforts as a member of the District 7 Team.
Thank you for all the great things you do!!
Don Frasch, VCO-7
They are all tall assignments that require all of us to steer the ship in the right direction.
