Welcome to TEAM NORTH which is comprised of five divisions with a membership of approximately 1300 dedicated Coast Guard Auxiliarists. This large geographical area of District Seven is comprised of South Carolina, George and North Florida, east to just south of Palm Bay. The five divisions provide service for two Coast Guard Sectors, one at Charleston, S.C. and the other at Jacksonville, Florida. Along with the two sectors, thirty-one flotillas provide needed assistance to seven Coast Guard Stations, three Marine Safety Units, three ports and Air Station Savannah.
TEAM NORTH’s area of responsibility (AOR) not only has a long coastline, but includes the IntraCoastal Waterway, several major rivers, estuaries, backwaters and large inland lakes. The NORTH’s flotillas stand ready at all times to execute search and rescue, to patrol the ports of Charleston, Savannah, Brunswick, and Jacksonville as well as patrolling the second largest cruise terminal in the world, Port Canaveral. As it is the only division in TEAM NORTH, not on the coast, Division 2, headquartered in Atlanta represents the Coast Guard by patrolling the lakes and inland waters. Division 4, the southernmost division in TEAM NORTH helps to provides security for all Shuttle Launches at Kennedy Space Center.
Therefore, wherever you may be in TEAM NORTH’s large geographical area, you are subject to see our Auxiliarsts giving vessel safety checks at a boat ramp, instructing at public education sessions classes about safe boating, providing safe boating information to young people in schools so they can get started the proper and safe way on the water. You will find United States Coast Guard Auxiliarists who are students, those who are working full time, and those who are either semi- or fully retired. They are well trained dedicated men and women who are “paying it forward” through their selfless volunteerism. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about becoming a member of the largest organization of its kind in the world.
Semper Paratus. We are the men and women in blue who are always ready to help.
Ron Goldenberg, Rear Commodore District 7, North
